Kill Him (Opium Series), by Niagara.  http://www.niagaradetroit.com/

Punked out Pop-era noise chic artist who leveraged all of her rebellious energies into all kinds of F-U dopeness.  Still kicking ass in Detroit proper, of all places.  Awesome story.
Her 2005 monograph (edited by Justin Giarla!), Niagara…Beyond the Pale.
…The Opium Series (and her mixed media work thereafter) is awesome for the Chinese print and extremely savvy and intricate use of the prints’ layouts for elements of the femme fatale.  Very well done.  Definitely respect the boss bitch attitude.

From Pure Underworld Pop:

Narrative Series:

(above technically a newer work but it fits so well into the narrative chain)
Patterned Pop:

Her 60’s Superstars is pretty much all Velvet Underground:

Edie Sedgwick, aka the Factory Girl, the precedent for socialites like Paris Hilton. Ciao! Manhattan (torrent) is considered the truer biopic, documenting “the crisp glamour and ice hard core of a drug-pop life.”
…
Niagara, from wiki:

“The Niagara Girl,” who appears in many female guises, would come to represent feminist swagger with drop dead gorgeous looks and an equally dangerous demeanor. Hard-boiled, tough talking gals who would rather dispatch a man than put up with any of his antics. Her bold and colorful post-pulp comic strip countenances of femme fatales in various depictions of malfeasence was culturally soldified by Callie Khoury’s Thelma and Louise, which shares a kindred spirit with Niagara’s subjects, along with pin-up girls like Bettie Page and the bad side of 40’s and 50’s film icons such as Bette Davis, Lauren Bacall and Jane Greer.

from 2009 Pussycat Magazine Interview:

”a cocktail of Valium, Tuinal and Nervine.”
Says Niagara, “Just be a genius and shut up.”
